From the crew that brought you ‘The Book of Books’, a new summer offering: the Tel Aviv-Yafo Municipality has just opened a new library … at the beach, of course!

Throughout summer, tourists and beach-goers will be able to check-out books, for free, along with having a swim, enjoying the sun and playing a game of matkot.

Over 500 books will be offered in the beach library in 5 languages: English, Arabic, Russian, French and Hebrew.

During the official opening earlier today, Tel Aviv-Yafo Mayor, Ron Huldai said: “Tel Aviv-Yafo has 22 public libraries and there are over 400,000 book borrowings every year. It is our pleasure to open another library in the summer months for the enjoyment of the residents and visitors of the city. Now you can enjoy a good book at the beach as well”.

In line with Tel Aviv leading the global digital revolution, for those visitors that do not wish to read a book in hardcover, can bring their tablets and connect to the free Wi-Fi provided all over the City, including the beach.
