VIDEO - Two of the original members of the legendary rock band The Doors are scheduled to perform in Israel on July 5, two days after the 40th anniversary of lead singer Jim Morrison’s death.
During a special concert at Tel Aviv’s Hanger 11, keyboardist Ray Manzarek and guitarist Robby Krieger’s will perform some of The Doors’ most popular hits along with Grand Funk Railroad’s lead singer Mark Farner.
Farner began performing with Manzarek and Krieger last year.
While front man Morrison was by far the most famous Doors member, Manzarek and Krieger were considered to be the musical minds behind the popular band.
Manzarek and Krieger’s version of The Doors does not have a regular bassist, but Harvey Brooks, who recently made aliyah, played with them during studio recordings.
Krieger wrote The Doors’ first hit, “Light My Fire”.
