NOOOOOO!!! Kravitz cancels his appearance in Israel

Last week, I waxed (too) rhapsodically about the news that rocker Lenny Kravitz was going to perform in Israel this fall. All signals had pointed to this being different from the run-of-the-mill narrative about a (debatably) fading American star going to Israel to cash in. Instead, the half-Jewish Kravitz had bragged about putting Tel Aviv at the end of his tour so he could spend some time in Israel, calling the adventure to-be “monumental.” He even filmed a chintzy video roll out where he dropped a Shalom and threw up a peace sign.
According to Channel 2 in Israel, Lenny Kravitz has now canceled his Tel Aviv appearance (along with a few others) so that he can shoot a movie that he apparently didn’t know he was going to be in last week.
